Whatever you do with CAG you will be able to make new friendships, some of them will last forever, all of them will be memorable.

As our name suggests, CAG provide challenging, adventurous and fun activities and the D of E Award for young people in their leisure time. Taking part in fun experiential activities enables members to develop their physical and mental skills and capacities and reach their full potential of becoming positive, active and happy citizens.

CAG was formed in 2009 and became a charity, CAG Trust, in 2019.

CAG are looking for Trustees, Committee Members and other unpaid Volunteers to fill key roles which are currently vacant and listed below.

  • Activity Leader

    Our activity leaders are at the centre of what we do – their good nature, leadership and passion for outdoor activities are what we pass on to the next generation. It is a role with a lot of responsibility and a huge amount of reward and satisfaction.

  • Chair

    We are looking for an individual who embodies the spirit of CAG and continually keeps the integrity and goals of the organisation at the forefront of every decision that they make as part of their role. This is a key Trustee position, playing a major part in supporting CAG’s day to day activities and managing it’s growth for the future.

  • Community Liaison Officer

    We’re looking for a volunteer Community Ambassador to play a vital role in helping us reach new audiences, form new partnerships and maintain current arrangements, raise awareness and generate income.

  • DofE Award Program Leader

    The DofE Leaders perform a vital role on behalf of the DofE and CAG. They are the adult leaders responsible for the management and training of a DofE group which could be at Bronze, Silver or Gold level. They lead, guide, train and support young people, agree their program choices, sign off their completed sections and approve their eDofE evidence.

  • DofE Award Program Manager

    The DofE Manager will perform a vital role to ensure that The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is operated in  accordance with the terms of the CAG Licence agreement and support the DofE’s mission. They will develop, support and promote  the delivery of the DofE within the remit of CAG.

  • Fundraising Volunteer

    We are looking for a remote based or local volunteer who ideally has experience in grant / bid writing and / or experience of working with young people.  This is a very flexible role which can be carried out at home and in your free time.

  • Marketing & Social Media Manager

    We are looking for someone to help us publicise CAG and what we do to build a consistent positive message about young people and Challenge Adventure Group and, ultimately, build a demand to be a part of CAG.

  • Membership Secretary

    Our group is flourishing and we have a growing number of members who want to take part in our exciting program and challenging adventures. There is a lot of paperwork and payments to be completed and returned by parents and this has to be distributed, returned and logged along with the collection, chasing arrears and logging of membership fees. You will be working in conjunction with the Treasurer and Group Leader as well as being a Committee member.

  • Program Manager

    There’s a lot involved in putting the program together and ensuring that all our members get the chance to join in all our amazing experiences.  You will work in conjunction with the Group Leader to decide which activities to plan, implement and manage.

  • Secretary

    We are looking for an individual to ensure the smooth and efficient running of meetings and to provide assistance and support to the Chairperson and the CAG committee. This is a key Trustee position, playing a major part in supporting CAG’s day to day activities and managing it’s growth in the future.

  • Stores & Equipment Manager

    You will be in charge of CAG’s kit which is kept at various locations, most of which is at our base in Bickenhill. You will be responsible for advising, sourcing, acquisition and logging of new kit & supplies and will ensure that it is in an excellent condition to be used for our trips and activities.

  • Treasurer

    We are looking for an individual to oversee the financial affairs of the charity and to take us forward as we continue to grow and thrive as an organisation. This is a key Trustee position, playing a major part in supporting CAG’s day to day activities and managing it’s growth in the future.

  • Trips Manager

    We are looking for someone to help organise all our fantastic overnight trips.  There’s a lot involved in putting these activities together and ensuring that all our members get the chance to join in some, if not all of these amazing experiences.  You will be organising our weekend trips away, our DofE practice and assessed trips and the week long legendary ski trip.

  • Uniform Manager

    We have a distinctive uniform for meeting nights and for when we’re out and about on trips.  We are proud of our branding and both members and leaders enjoy wearing our variety of rugby-style shirts, cosy fleeces, soft shell jackets and hats. We are looking for a volunteer to monitor and organise uniform orders, log and chase payments and distribute to / from suppliers and to / from members.

  • Volunteer & Recruitment Manager

    We are looking for a  Volunteer & Recruitment Manager who will be a proactive, outgoing and organised person with a passion for volunteering and who understands the difference that volunteers can make to the community. In this role you will help to recruit Trustees, Committee Members, activity leaders and other volunteers to build and maintain a robust infrastructure around our current team members enabling the organisation to grow and prosper.
