CAG Ski Trip 2023 to Sansicario, Italy
The CAG Ski Trip is THE highlight to any CAG member’s experience.
The CAG Ski Trip is THE highlight to any CAG member’s experience.
Following our awesome 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2020 ski trips we are pleased to launch our plans for the 2023 ski trip. Our previous trips have been described by those that went on them as the best trips they have EVER been on – including the famous Arden School Year 10 ski trip!!!
Think about it: would you rather go skiing with your teachers, or with Simon?? Be woken up by Dickie, or your geography teacher?? Or, eat dinner with the teacher who gave you detention or watch Stu suck spaghetti through his lips??
For 2023 CAG will be heading to Sansicario, Italy, for a life changing Ski adventure.
We’ve been to Sansicario twice before and love the area. It is perfect for beginners to learn and intermediates to take advantage of the 400+km in the area.
Please note: registering is just an indication of interest – it does not commit you to the trip, it just gives us an indication of the level of interest and allows us to confirm details.
This is a full package trip – everything is included:
Challenge Adventure Group have been to Sansicario for two previous ski trips and always highly rate it, which is why we are going back for our 7th ski trip and our first since 2020.
Sansicario is part of the Milky Way (or Via Lattea) resorts which link the old French border town of Montgenèvre with Italian ski areas including Clavière, Cesana, Sestriere, Pragelato and Sauze d’Oulx. This is a huge ski area with over 400Km of pistes in 7 French and /Italian towns.
The resort has something of a split personality – a traditional village linked with a purpose-built complex. Sansicario was also home to a number of events at the 2006 Winter Olympics, including the women’s downhill.
Resort Altitude | 1700m |
Highest Lift | 2823m |
Total Piste | 400km |
Longest Run | 8km |
Total Lifts | 9 |
Gondolas/Cable cars | 1 |
Chairlifts | 4 |
Drag Lifts | 4 |
Snow Parks | 1 |
Sansicario has 88km of local pistes that are best suited to beginner skiers. It does have runs that are at intermediate and advanced levels such as the Fraiteve and Moncrons runs that cater excellently for advanced skiers.
Skiers can also explore the wider Milky Way ski area which opens up many more opportunities. There is direct access to the slopes in the area with the piste of Claviere and Montgenevre to the West easily within reach.
Sansicario also offers 7km of cross country ski trails and a snowpark.
The resort sits at 1700m with skiing back into resort possible and has lifts reaching altitudes of 2800m. It also has snow making capabilities covering all of its slopes.
This is a 9 day trip with 6 days of skiing.
We have arranged 5 hours of instruction per day for the trip members to learn the most about skiing and the area.
The following are all part of the trip:
This is a trip open to ALL members regardless of experience from any age group: from beginner all the way to expert, from year 6 to year 13 (in 2022 -2023 school year). We have had many year 7 members with us in the past – whatever your age, this trip is open to you.
We will be staying in Sansicario at the Hotel Olympic Centre. Halsbury’s description of this hotel is as follows:
“We are delighted to be able to offer this great 3* hotel built specifically for the Olympic Games in 2006. The rooms are for 4 – 6 students with staff in twins and triples. All rooms have ensuite facilities and have a TV and telephone. The hotel also offers doorstep skiing (snow conditions permitting) with a blue run leading down to the hotel door.
One of the key selling points of this hotel is the in-house ski hire shop allowing personalised fittings and corrections throughout the week. There is also a magic carpet lift and nursery area right outside the hotel, which is ideal for beginners.
Facilities also include a lovely bar area overlooking the slopes, a large dining area (meals are served buffet style), spacious communal areas, games area with table tennis and table football and an in-house disco.”
This is a coach based trip and the costing is therefore dependant on the number of people we put on the coach – if we fill it, it will be the cheapest price we can do it for, if it isn’t full it will cost a little bit more per person.
We will confirm the cost with you before booking so you will know and can agree with the cost.
Please note: registering is just an indication of interest – it does not commit you to the trip, it just gives us an indication of the level of interest and allows us to confirm details.
To reduce the out of pocket cost we will run a program where participants take part in fundraising events to reduce the cost of their own trip.
Our primary method is through our famous CAGWASH: the members and leaders take part in a Saturday morning car wash, the profits of which are split equally between participants in an account CAG holds for them to be used for CAG activities such as a ski trip.
This method along won’t cover the whole trip cost by itself though. If further events are required parents and leaders can suggest and support any they feel applicable.
CAG leaders will assist at events but the primary effort will need to come from parents. If you wish to assist in this program please let us know – if you wish to run an event please go ahead, everyone will welcome your leadership.
If you don’t wish to take part in the program and are willing to pay the full cost instead that will be fine, but we would rather have all participants involved to create a great team experience if possible.
We need to know if you are interested in taking part in the trip. To do so please complete the form at this link or click the button below:

We want to get this thing underway – to do that we need to get a level of interest as soon as possible.
The success of going to the next stage depends on enough people registering their interest by that point – please tell us now if you are interested! Thanks
We welcome feedback, comments, requests, ideas, questions, hello’s……anything you would like to say to us.
