About Challenge Adventure Group

Challenge Adventure Group is a youth organisation for Knowle and Dorridge that started in January 2009 and is aimed at young people aged 10 to 25.

As our name suggests, the group provides challenging, adventurous and fun activities to educate young people in their leisure time. By becoming members, young people will be able to develop their physical and mental skills and capacities and to reach their full potential by becoming positive, active citizens.

We meet onTuesday evenings between 7pm and 9pm at Bickenhill Church Hall (details below).

During evening meetings we have a undertake a reange of activities and games, such as Baseball, Prisoner Ball, First Aid Training, Navigation excercises.

We also go away once a month on an outdoor weekend trip. These trips involve, camping, hiking, staying in Youth Hostels, sailing, Climbing, Abseiling, Ghyll Scrambling in the Lake District etc.

Age Groups & Award Schemes

There are two age groups within Challenge Adventure Group: the younger age group is 10 to 13 years; the older age group is 14 years and above. Members are encouraged to progress to become young leaders with their own responsibilities. All members participate as a member of a small team during meetig nights and outdoor trips.

Each age group has its own programme and participates in nationally recognised award schemes

  • Youth Challenge for 10-13 year olds
  • Youth Achievement Award and DofE (formerly the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award) from 14 years.
  • All members will also be encouraged to participate in any relevant accredited award scheme such as RLSS, RYA, St John’s Ambulance, BCU etc.

Where Does Challenge Adventure Group Meet?

Challenge Adventure meets in the Bickenhill Church Hall, just 5 miles from Knowle on the road to the NEC (Church Lane, Bickenhill, B92 0DN). The location also has lots of outdoor space with woods, playing fields and footpaths setting off across Solihull and North Warwickshire.
